A replica of the Billy Bike custom motorbike from the iconic 1969 film Easy Rider, is estimated to sell for £15,000-17,000 in the Charterhouse auction of classic & vintage motorcycles at The Haynes Motor Museum on 26th November.
“Easy Rider hit the cinema screen in 1969 with Henry Fonda, Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper and although I cannot remember all of the film, I certainly remember the two Harley-Davidson custom choppers called Captain America and the Billy Bike.” Commented George Beale.

This replica was built in 2000 by the late Tony Buckingham of Lucky Buck Custom Cycles.
The engine used is a Harley-Davidson 1340 Evolution model with panhead covers. To retain originality the electric starter was removed and a kick start fitted to the gearbox. The frame is a correct Panhead wishbone type and all other parts hand made as per the original bike. It also features a Mousetrap clutch, correct wheels, fork rake, mudguards, seat and sissy bar.
Although not 100% correct it is very close to the original and whilst one or two
replicas exist in USA Charterhouse understand this is the only example in the UK.
It will be a great addition to any collection, museum or Easy Rider fan.
Charterhouse is now accepting further entries for this specialist classic & vintage motorcycle auction on 26th November being held at the prestigious Haynes Motor Musuem.
