Globe-Trotting Lots at Charterhouse

  • by

A collection of rare glass petrol pump globes from a West Country collector, are entered into the Charterhouse specialist auction of automobilia on Wednesday 24th September.

“These globes once stood atop petrol pumps on garage forecourts. Lit up at night they were beacons for motorists looking to fill up with their cars favourite fuel and guided them safely to a pump.” Commented Richard Bromell.

A rare BP Super glass petrol pump globe £500-£1,000 in the Charterhouse automobilia auction on 24th September.

Today, these are rare survivors. Made of glass, many globes were damaged or simply thrown away after a forecourt renewed or upgraded their petrol pumps.

Ideal to decorate a study, man-cave or in a barn to compliment a collection of classic & vintage cars, globes from the collection are estimated at £500-£1,000 each.

Charterhouse are now accepting further entries for this specialist auction of glass petrol globes, fuel pumps, enamel signs and automobilia.
