The Charterhouse auction of classic and vintage motorcycles on 3rd October was another great success with the sale totalling over £400,000.
“We had a really interesting selection of motorcycles dating from 1912 to 2023.” Commented George Beale. “There were plenty of projects ready for winter through to daily riders and show machines.”
Top lot of the day was a 1968/2023 Vincent Egli 1200cc bike which sold for £39,100 to a UK collector. Next up, was the 1925 Sunbeam Model 11 Works Sprint machine. Coming to Charterhouse with great history it sold for £32,200 to a buyer in Hungary.
Elsewhere in the auction, a 1948 Indian Chief sold for £21,850 to a West Country collector, a 1921 Excelsior Big Twin at £19,550, also sold to Hungary, and a 1971 Yamaha FS1E project from a deceased estate in Plymouth, which had been garaged for many years, sold for £5,520 to a buyer in Plymouth!
Charterhouse is now accepting further entries for their Spring classic and vintage motorcycle auction, back at the Haynes Motor Museum, on Thursday 13th March.
