1972 Konig Racing Motorcycle

Purchased by the present owner from the Konig factory (Berlin) in December 1972 with a 680cc engine
He completely rebuilt the bike in May 1973 and tested by John Nutting for ‘Motorcycle’ magazine in the July issue that year
Raced by Jerry Lancaster in the Belgian GP in 1973 using a factory 500cc engine
Now fitted with a very successful Jeff Gawley 500cc engine (see attached sheet for full details)
Totally rebuilt in 2013 and has completed only one parade since
New crankshaft, pistons, seals, 6 speed gearbox, ignition plus many other new parts (see list)
The remaining original parts will be supplied with the bike
Konig motorcycles were made famous by Kim Newcombe
He was leading the World Championship in 1973 but was tragically killed before the last GP and posthumously finished 2nd
A very rare racing bike in very good order and ready to use
